The Science Fair is held each year in February. It is the time to blast off on an exciting voyage of scientific discovery and go where no Cougar has gone before! Explore down into the farthest reaches of your brain and discover those scientific ideas that are just waiting to be found.

Remember you can study plants, electricity, pets, machines, or anything else scientific. You can do an experiment, do research on your favorite science topic, demonstrate a scientific procedure or create (or reproduce) an invention. You can explore your idea alone, with a friend, or with a family member. There are plenty of ideas on the internet!

Pick a topic that sounds fun to you, then fill out a form that will be handed out in class. More information on the “how to’s” will follow. Once you sign up you will receive weekly letters to guide you on your project.

Remember, the project topic you choose has to be final, no changing your mind the night before the science fair! It is never too early to think about your next science project. Even now, get on the phone and call your friends, talk about your ideas and come up with a really cosmic project idea.

Second, there is a maximum of 4 team members allowed per project. That’s you, and 3 friends or brothers and sisters. There are only so many explosive science ideas you can pack into one project!
